iPhone 5 and 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Like it says has anyone got a iPhone 5 and does the lighting cable hook right into the USB port and work. I have a 2011 SE sonata with NAVI.

I too have a 2011 Sonata SE with NAV and I'm curious as well.

I have a sneaking suspicion it won't work with the stock Apple cable as my iPhone 4 won't (needs the Hyundai cable then it works just fine).

I very curious to know if the iphone 5 coupled with the new adapter (that connects the new 8pin lightning connector to the old 30 pin connector) works as well.

Of course, if someone from Hyundai were to offer some insights that would be fantastic (though so far all I've seen from those who have reached out to Hyundai has been a 'wait and see' type reply).

the iphone 5 requires a different cable to begin with so i doubt it would work.

what I was asking if the new cable works in that usb port now cause it is a newer connection. Not with the old 30 pin but the new thunderbolt cable.

Hyundai is probably just getting to test the new iPhone and cable. Apple is famous for not sharing in advance of changes, and this new cable is no exception. Most accessory manufacturers didn't see it before the press conference where it was revealed.

Touring the greater Houston area and trying to save a little gas doing it!

The only hope I hold for this is that the 8 to 30 pin adapter has a DAC built in from what I'm told. This means it's at least possible for the DAC to convert back into the correct format for the old 30 pins, thus (reasonable assumption alert) into a format the current hyundai cable supports.

You just need to buy the adapter that fits on top of the 30 pin
