I just bought a 2012 Sonata. I have been trying to find a compatible Bluetooth phone to pair with my new purchase. Since I already have a cell phone that is NOT compatible or Bluetooth capable, I want a Pre-paid or pay as you go plan and phone.
This is where the trouble begins. I cannot find a compatible and affordable cell phone and plan that works with my Sonata. I DO NOT want to pay an additional $70 or $80 a month just to have a phone for my car. This is not an option! I also do not want to use the standard Bluetooth earpiece set up.
What good is this feature if you can't get a reasonable phone to use with the vehicle?? Though I love the vehicle, I am extremely disappointed about this phone debacle. It was one of the selling points when I bought the vehicle and now I can't seem to make use of the features built in to the car.
I have been to the following 2 sites looking for phones that might work. So far, I have had no luck.
Hyundai Bluetooth Compatibility
Is there anyone out there who has any suggestions or positive results with phones that are not on the "approved" list???
Specifically, I am interested in phones and plans that are of the "Pre-paid" or "Pay as you go" type.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this and trying to help.
That list is WAY behind the times.
We have an iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy II S and an HTC Inspire 4G that all work no problem!
