Hey guys, hoping someone can help here. I have a 2011 Sonata with the NAV package, and this morning when I started the car I found that I have no sound coming from my speakers. The stereo powers up just fine, all controls including NAV and Bluetooth seem to be functioning perfectly, and yet I am getting no audio. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Try removing the radio fuse for about 60 seconds then put fuse back in hopefully that will reboot the radio

VERY simple to fix!! A cold reset or reboot of the radio, do this by pulling out the memory console fuse in the fuse box next to the steering wheel, (see storing your car for long periods in the battery section of your manual) left it pulled for an hour or two, then pushed it back in (have to use the key as the auto locks will not work when pulled) and all audio sound was restored. Only needed to reset my presets for XM radio and all good to go. Kinda like a Microsoft reboot fix. LoL Best regards to others. Phil :D

SE 2.0T with NAV Dimension. Was driving down the street today listening to the radio when suddenly audio cut out completely. I thought it was the radio station gone silent but I changed to CD and IPOD and still got no sound. Volume controls worked still and showed level changes but got no sound. Pulled over. Shut off the car. Started it back up again and after the NAV/Stereo rebooted I got the sound back. Not happy about this with just 1,300 miles on the car.

With the Factory Nav system you should also have an upgraded stock amplifier. Fusing may not be the same for it and there could be two causes for why it isnt working. If you have full function of the radio but no sound then it isnt the fuses for the radio but the fuse for the amp, you may need to refer to your owners manual for its location however you may need to consult your local dealership to find out where it is. The other possible issue is speakers most amplifiers have built in protection to prevent damage from the result of a grounded or blown speaker. If you had no problems with the speakers (rattling/buzzing) then you should be ok and it should be a simple fix. I have seen both issues with many different makes of cars so first check all fusing inside and outside under the hood. Good luck hope you solve the issue.

I just had the same issue with my 2011. I brought it into the dealer and the service manager just took a pen and stuck it into the hole near the CD and reset the system. He told me that it's a known issue that the Blue Tooth and Satellite radio inter fear with each other. I asked if there was a software upgrade and was told no, none at this time. The only thing that sucked was having to reset all of my stations.

No Audio

My 2011 Elantra audio just quit working all of a sudden. Took it to the dealer today and the service rep took his pen and performed a 'hard reset' of the sytem. The reset button is located on the left hand top next to the cd slot, Just push and hold for 10 seconds.:)

Had this exact problem and there is a reset button to the left of the CD player. Get your paper clip out, and insert into the hole like the typical reset function on a electronic device. Worked for me....just have to reprogram all the settings.

Working on Hyundais for the last 3 years i have found this is a common occurrence. If unplugging the audio fuse as stated previously does not fix the issue, I have found that sometimes unplugging the radio and then replugging it in has worked but not always. It isn't very hard to pull the radio but if your still under warranty just take it in and tell them your issue. There's only so many times you can do a radio rest before they will admit there is a problem. Most likely the radio is at fault. If you are out of warranty, unfortunately, the radio unit is very expensive. Which is crap since the radios suck. Hope this helps some.

If the reset doesnt work,
did you check the amplifier fuse?

I'm having the same "no audio" issue with my 2010 Elantra. After checking and pulling the fuses overnight, along with detaching the battery cables to reboot the system, I still have "no audio"! I also went as far as removing the radio and checking for cold solder joints. NOTHING has worked. The parts and service departments at Hyundai seem dumbfounded. Any suggestions before I purchase another radio??

It would be great if you'd clarify what in this Thread you have tried already (ie) Posts 9 (easiest), 6, 8.

I had the same thing happen today suddenly no audio.
I found this suggested in another forum.
To locate the small reset button on the unit , then put the car in second position. The unit screen was on with no audio as I pushed the button with a tip of a pen. The whole audio unit shut off. I panicked at first when the stereo didn’t come back on it’s own. Then I just pushed the stereo unit’s POWER BUTTON and the unit rebooted, right away all of my audio came back. :)

Open your inside fuse box cover. (left side of dash) You will see a yellow fuse holder. Pull outwards. The dome lights and audio will shut off. Leave this pulled then remove the battery ground for at least five min. Put battery ground back on, then push in yellow fuse and try audio.

Rte TWO Hundai (Leominster, MA) failed to determine why my Veracruz radio did not work. They took out the fuses, checked them, said they were ok and put them back in. The radio still did not work. They suggested a new radio at over $1,500. With no radio is boring. I brought the Veracruz to a tire dealer and they replaced the fuses and everything was working fine in just a few minutes. So try replacing the fuses, not just removing them for 10 minutes. I saved $1,500 by not letting Rte TWO Hundai replace the radio and now the radio is working fine.

Instead of creating a new thread, my stock head unit froze. I couldn't turn it off, adjust volume..nothing. So I turned the car off, waited a few seconds and turned it back on. The unit is dead. Time for warranty repair.

Fixed my issue. Pulled out the memory fuse for about 6-10 seconds. Thank you forum members! :)

I have a 2011 sonata w/nav. no sound . I pushed the small reset button like several post said to do . fixed the no sound . thanks . also here is something I found out that if your sound is ok and working. If you push the off button one time fast it turns off the Audio . Then push it again the Audio comes back on. Ok now that said no that is not why i had no sound and still had to do a reset . the million dollar question . ( Is that the mute button ? ) And is that in some way causing are problems ? I leave you all with this quandary .

I know this is waaay late, but anyone stumbling on this, I fixed this in this way:
The aftermarket stereo may have a "P-CONT" wire (Power Control), and this is often taped up as 'optional' use. This wire should connect to the AMP control of the harness coming from the Vehicle.

In my case, it was a blue wire on a Metra harness labeled "Amp Turn-on". This pinned to the Sonata stock harnesses Pink/Black amp pin. Connecting the P-Cont to Amp Turn-on brought sound immediately.
