2014 Limited TURBO High Beam/DRL Combo Bulbs

I am having a heck of a time finding 6000K LED High Beam/DRL Combo Bulbs, one bulb does both DRL and High Beams) for my 2014 limited Turbo with XENON low beams.

My car came from the factory with H7 LED High Beam/DRL lamps but they are a little too yellow about 4500K and I am looking for 6000K.

I need no adapters, just H7 bulbs that look like a factory bulb. I have ordered from Precision LED and they are useless. They sent me bulbs that fit and act as DRL but I have No high beams.

I am going nuts as the sales people don't seem to be able to understand that I have LED Bulbs.

Can anyone help me? :surprise:

Thanks in advance!

^ what Fox_Moulder said.

OP - You will enjoy them! I have LED DRL in my car and they look good. I hope you didn't buy from XenonSupply though because their bulbs are $60 + shipping whereas you can buy them from superbrightleds.com or Vleds like you mentioned for $30 shipped.

Bbqchipsfan, as we had mentioned in our other posting, these are not the same bulbs and should not be considered the same product that deserves similar pricing.

The type of bulb listed on SuperBrightleds.com utilizes a very different architecture and produces an entirely different light output pattern.

LED Daytime Running Lights - Super Bright LEDs

taken from our previous posting:

The type of LED being sold by XenonSupply is a new design recently introduced to the market. This is an LED bulb milled from a single aluminum block which allows for higher heat resistance and longer bulb life. This is not a typical Chip Style SMD breadboard that most sellers advertise. We considered carrying the Chip Style 5050SMD H7 LED as well but its heat dissipation was not as efficient as the Aluminum Unibody unit, nor was its light output as evenly distributed.

In terms of pricing, please note that these are lifetime warranty products as we feel the quality of this unit is high enough to justify this type of pricing and support.

Just wanted to clarify and make sure people were aware that not all LEDs are equal.

Cheers,
-Phil @ XS

Same question as above, is your LED output higher than superbrightleds' output?

#15 ·
do you need resistors to install these LED's?

Hi :) Some H7 Led Kit's I've looked at specify that there is only 1 output level (no dual DRL/High Beam outputs like yours have). How do you know if the LED will have that capability? Must it specify the 2 CXA-1512 Chips you mentioned or is there something else to look for in the specifications? Thanks!

It is just a badgless chrome grill I found on ebay for about $59. It seemed to be made as well as the OEM I removed. It is chrome plated ABS-- just like the chrome garnish on the hood.

If you want yellow high beams/DRLs-- then forget LEDs. As you can see, my high beams appear a bit 'bluer' than my 4300K HID low beams. All my exterior lights, except the HID low beams, are LED. I have not ever seen any yellow LEDs that would have the intensity needed for high beams.

I have noted that the yellow on my (Type 1) switchbacks (parking, turn signal) bulbs does not seem near as "bright" as the white; I am not sure what they look like to oncomming traffic . . .

Do you use a separate wiring harness for the HIDs on the high beam? In the stock configuration the H7 bulbs get a reduced voltage (4-5 VDC) for the DRL mode; I was curious how the HID bulbs are wired . . . .

You say " . . . always on at full power." Surely not . . . ALWAYS -- perhaps in DRL mode and High Beam mode-- what about when you want just low beams?

with an appropriate relay that triggered at the drl voltage, the hid would always be active as drl

and my canadian car will not allow fogs and highs at the same time ..of course with relays that could be accomplished

Pinoy-eh, are you using "quick start" / "fast start" ballast on the high beams? I have been reading that some of the new ballast will reach 80% output in 0.1 sec and 90% within 1.0 second. Time to reach near full output level has been my concern with going to HID for the high beam. If I were to go with the HID high beams, I would give in and buy the (SR) DRL Delete harness and use my fog lights for the DRL-- the harness would only provide full voltage to the high beam and fog lamps.

@ C4RN1 - I really like those 2Stroke LEDs! I did a custom DIY mod not too long ago (link here), and modded the stock DRL function to be "cancelled" using a dual relay set up (link here). I spent a huge amount of time doing the high beam LED mod, and although it came out pretty well in the end, I wish those 2Stroke bulbs had been around since the install would have been far easier, and seems to project much better than my set up.

BTW, where did you get the fog light DRLs? I like the light bar look!

Which ones did you buy? I still have the switch and cables that came with mine to turn the actual foglight bulb on. You can have that harness if you want, pay shipping.

Took me about 3 hours or so only because I got stuck with the clips on the bumper and didn't want to break anything. I also tried to put xs 880/881's in and they didn't fit (couldn't turn them). I ended up going with yellow led bulbs.

If you got the ones I have you need to buy a drl controller or wire them in to the existing drl wire.
