Unhappy

So I had the 2011 limited and it got totalled. Now I have the 2012 limited. I had the cargo net in the 2011 and I still have my cargo net. I went to put it in the 2012 and I cant. The hooks are on the bottom so no problem but theres no hooks on the top so it just sits on the floor of trunk (useless). What the **** am I missing something here? I dont remember exactly how it was hooked on to my 2011 can someone post a pic or am I missing something to do this? Is there some kind of little pieces i need to make this work? If so can I buy those somewhere or should my dealership have them? I'm kinda at a loss here.

When I got my cargo net from Hyundai, it came with the top hooks that needed to be installed. I had to pull off a couple of trim tabs and enlarge the metal brackets behind the trunk liner. The hooks were then attached with a couple of speed nuts.

Pretty simple, but you do need the hardware.

A Hyundai dealer should be able to order you replacement hooks. The cargo net actually has 4 hooks that you need to install, 2 up top and 2 on the bottom. But a lot of people said you can just use the hooks already built into the car for the bottom 2 hooks which is what you have it hooked to now. If you don't mind the look maybe on of those 3M stick on hook things used to hang pictures and stuff might work too for a few bucks. Not sure how much the dealer would want for factory hooks.

U needed to take the hooks from your crashed car.

Garage
The real Chuck Norris would roundhouse kick his Sonata and the net would install itself

sorry but I couldn't resist

When Chuck Norris crosses the street, the cars have to look both ways.

just happened to be going thru my file this weekend...and came across the instruction sheet for the cargo net that the dealer installed...looks like you have to drill the holes for the top two hooks. if you want a copy of them...let me know and i'll see what i can do for ya.

The cargo net should be easy to install. I have a 2012 Sonata. I had an old cargo net from my 2002 Elantra. I was able to install it in the Sonata in about 10 minutes and it fit perfectly.

It had 2 hooks with speed nuts in the package. I took the 2 plastic trim retainers out, on the left and right sides and put the hook in the holes. I used the bottom hooks that were already there to secure the bottom of the net.

The horizontal cords are elastic and it doesn't make any difference if the Sonata trunk opening is an inch or 2 wider.

I've seen these nets on ebay for $10.
