sonata loses power

Hi all, newbie here. 02 sonata 2.4L 5 sp 154K engine idles fine but bogs down under load, CEL on but can't read code, get error reading. Tried replacing plugs, wires. Sound familiar to anyone? Hate to take to dealer if I don't have to

MyKids04Sonata is an unknown quantity at this point
You are at the mileage that it could be a plugged catalytic converter. I'm a mod at kia-forums.com and I see quite a few when the mileage is over 135k miles. What is your top speed like (say over 75mph)? You may also have a fuel supply problem caused by a blocked fuel filter...limiting the engine's hp. Have you tried a different OBDII scanner? Autozone and Advance will pull codes for free..

I have a cheap scanner and got nothing. I tried Autozone and same thing, they checked some fuses but it was dark. They suggested check all the fuses as 1 might be causing the read error. Its my son's car so I will have to get more info as to high speed performance
