Unhappy 2005 Elantra Will Not Crank

Hello, I am the original owner of a 2005 Elantra. It has 89,000 miles on it. I go to start it and the power comes on but it will not crank. It will start if I jump it though. I checked the battery. It is a year old and fine. We cleaned all of the leads and cable leads to the battery. It was fine for a couple of days, but having a problem again this morning. The cold may be a factor.
Any suggestions? Please help.

Thank you!

When you turn key, is there a single solid click,,, or is there a fast cyclic clicking sound like card in kids bicycle spokes ?

<--- please fill in the 'location' and 'what you drive' boxes on your personal profile page.

Ok, kinda pain in backside now, as we not see starter typically take dump on Elantra.. have assistant hold key to crank position, you go under hood and find way to hit starter body with hammer somehow and see if the impact make starter take off cranking.. could also be solenoid contact inside solenoid to connect the 125+ amp power to run starter may have burnt contacts (Toyota common for this back in the day)...

If yes, either way,, then you need starter replace,, dealer likely have to order, as I dont think we been stocking Elantra starter, just dont sell them enough to warranty keep in stock.
