2003 Hyundai Elantra Thermostat housing problem

So my 2003 Hyundai elantra thermostat broke, got stuck closed, my car then overheated, 0kay buy a new thermostat no problem. When installed new thermostat a bolt corner piece from the thermostat housing corner broke off. Can this be repaired by a jb weld? I no nothing really about car repair, had a friend of a friend install new thermostat, when the corner bolt broke he said it could be welded to fix it and would be no problem, now the guy has not returned to do this and won't answer my phone calls. Would a cold jb weld work for this? And should I try doing it myself or what? I am a single mom just getting by on my waitress income and cannot afford to bring my car to a shop? Anyone have any advice or tips for this issues?

Best case scenario it would be a temporary fix. Easier to order a new housing.

don't even bother using the jb weld....it won't hold. Often enough its at least 15psi system, not to mention the high temps. Need to buy a new housing...junkyard one is fine too. Don't drive long as is because it DOES and WILL overheat whether the guage says so or not. Good luck
