Add to the reservoir, cold level should be between the two lines on the bottle. If the system needs more coolant it will suck it out of the bottle and if it expands and needs to push a bit out it will do so back in the bottle, hence the name reservoir. Hope that helps. Cheers.
You can always check your radiator level, when the engine is cold, by removing the cap. You add coolant, as needed, via the plastic holding tank. As mentioned above, there is a "cold" line and a "hot line." If your engine is cold and the car is parked on level ground just check the level of the holding tank and add coolant to get you to the "cold" line if it's low. Make a habit of checking all your engine fluids at least once a month, more often if you do a lot of driving. It's safer if you add fluid with the engine off. There's no need to have the engine running to add coolant. Hope this helps.
