Hi I'am a international student studying in Malaysia...I want to buy a hyundai elantra 1.8 2002 but I'm not sure about the car and the price. i had some questions if you could help me by answering them

1- is Hyundai elantra 2002 a good car in Malaysia? are the maintenance high or low?
2- what is a good price for this year?
3- what should I Check about the car before buying it? what common problems does the car have that I should be aware of it?
4- what mileage is a good car with this year (2000)? I found one that was 170,000 km
5- and for the last question..all together do you recoment elantra or no?

wymi is an unknown quantity at this point

Hyundai's have proven to be well built reliable cars for our family, I definitely recommend them. Your best bet would be to have a mechanic check the car out before buying it.

1)Parts should be cheap, you are not far from where they are made.
2)Depends on the milage
3)If you don't know alot about cars, bring someone who does
4)For a 2002, I would look for cars between 150,000 but under 200,000
5)For a student or a first car, yes elantras are good.

^I could give you some information, but it wouldn't be accurate for Asia because I have no idea how far you guys drive, how much gas costs there, etc. The above website is an american government website, just look it up there.
