Ok,I narrowed down the problem on my daughter's 96 Accent. It needs a new starter. But how do you get to the **** thing to get it out and put a new one in? I read somewhere that you had to remove the intake manifold and unhook the clutch linkage and so on but other people have posted that you can get at it from the top without doing all that. I don't see how. I jacked it up and clmbed underneath (yes, I used Jack stands) and sure, I can unhook the wires to the solenoid, no problem, but it doesn't seem like a socket on an extension is gonna reach the bolts where the starter attaches to the tranny bell housing. No room to get them in there. Any sugestions on how to do this? Is there an easy way? Not looking forward to the next couple of days of getting a rolling start and popping the clutch. Starts just fine that way but not a cool way to leave a good impression when you gotta do home visits to client's homes. Particularly ones you visit each week.

jsinton is an unknown quantity at this point
It requires socket extensions with a universal joint. If you got the wires off the solenoid, then you did the hard part already. Once you get a little universal joint for your socket extensions it's easy.
