I have the same problem. Motor or transmission stutter from 25 km/h to 30 km/h on my Santa fe hybrid 2021. Going to the dealer december 1rst.
Does the problem appear in Eco mode or all modes? If just in Eco if you have the paddle shifters try downshifting 1 gear and see if the problem stops. If you can’t do that then shift to Sport mode and see if it stops.

When riding at a steady speed under 45mph in my hybrid limited in Eco mode likes to up shift to the next higher gear early resulting in a slight vibration. For example on level road at 38 - 41 mph it will be in 6th with a slight vibration, if I downshift to 5th and it goes away. In sport mode I never have any issues because the shift points are higher. To me it’s a minor issue the I live with because the MPG in Eco is better.

The vibration can be felt and heard in any mode.

I have a 2021 Santa Fe Calligraphy and have experienced one occurrence for sure when starting from a stop. Transmission would not get out of first /second as I went through an intersection . Rev's went to about 4000 rpm with no increase in speed beyond 10-15 miles per hour. Hard to see gauges as I was making a turn through traffic on a large intersection. Once I was through stopped and restarted and went with no issues. One other "shudder" from start but shifts carried on properly after a second or so. 3500 km on vehicle.
I got the same problem.
My car is 2021 with 6000 miles!
The dealer assistance doesn't find anything wrong.
I don't trust in my car anymore.
This problem can going back anytime.
I need a lawyer???

And let us know how that works out for you.

Sell the car if you aren't satisfied. People are queued up waiting for one. At only 6000 miles, you'll get more than what you paid for it.

So something happened one time to you, you haven’t had it happen since, the dealer couldn’t cause it to happen when attempting to replicate it, and now you want a lawyer?

Good luck with that plan, please let us know how it goes.

I own a Santa Fe Caligraphy 2021 since April 2021. For the first 4000 miles, the car was extraordinary, with no issues, not jerky transmission or shuddering. After 4000 miles the transmission started being jerky and the problem not only persists 3000 plus miles later is getting worse. Now it has a very violent shuddering and a lot of other noises and performance issues at low speed. The problem: every time I come to a stop or close to a stop the transmission will change in a matter of seconds 2 gears or at least this is how it feels and sounds. Sometimes it feels like just one shift very rough in any condition. Driving in stop-and-go traffic is nothing but a nightmare. It does it 9 times out of 10 to give you an idea. It's very rare if it does have this behavior. I tried all drive modes and except for the Sport mode, this problem occurs on all of them. Sport mode is the only drive mode where this problem does not manifest, mostly because the car sits at a much higher RPM. The jerkiness, the shaking, the shuddering, and vibrations are so powerful and most of the time loud that the entire car is shaking as you got rear-ended or similar to the transmission having loss bolts and moving back and forth. The minor things as listed in the manual and that are normal about this type of transmission you can feel a slight vibration on the brake pedal or some shifting but those most of the time are not noticeable. It does this only when downshifting and only when are close or already come to a stop. The way it feels I would say from the 3rd to the 1st gear is a mess and transmission has no idea what is doing or is something bad with this transmission. The clunking noise that is also very loud and the shake of the car is being felt by all passengers is nothing normal or not noticeable about it. A lot of time the transmission is shifting the lower gears after I stop the car. This is so dangerous because if I do not seriously keep the foot on the brake pedal the car will move forward, that’s how powerful the **** and the shake of the car are. A lot of times I am just wondering how long it will take until this car will drop the transmission in the middle of the road. The dealer verified the car and they acknowledge that it does all these but they said is normal. Is nothing normal about such behavior in any car and with any transmission. Now at over 8000 miles these symptoms just got worse and it does the same loud and violent ‘’boom sound’’ even when I am backing up from the parking lot in R and the original symptoms just got even louder and more violent/roughness. I am not going to accept an answer like is normal or a defect doesn’t manifest. There seems to be very usual used by manufacturers when no check engine light is on or any other very visible issues. I also tried to sell it but when I went to get the car appraised, the very first stop when test drives it, I've been asked what is with this shuddering. Unless Hyundai bothers to fix this issue, I am left with option one get about 4000$ less in trade because they will take it to auction because no one will buy it after they test it, or option two lemon law and buyback from manufacture. I am gathering documents and following lemon law procedure at this time, just in case I do need to go this route. Except this the car is exceptional. Hyundai seems to still have issues even with engines or transmissions, quality is not there.

If you've had your dealer check it and state it's 'normal' ask their sales guy to appraise it for trade-in. If he says it's got issues and knocks the price down, get the service manager in the conversation and get them to work out what they want to say.

I would also log a call with corporate, as there have been a number of cases where there has been an oil leak in the transmission resulting in the transmission having problems similar to what you have stated. Perhaps even request that the dealer check the oil level in the transmission (it's in their interest as the gearbox will fail if it's low).

I went to the dealership and after 3 hours we think the issue is resolved. At least for now is good, hopefully will stay like this. After test drive the tech acknowledged the rough/violent shaking is not normal. They got on the phone with Hyundai tech line and after back and forth with them and a lot of tests they reset the computer, did the re-learn procedure and they also found low selonoid fluid. According to the tech that itself is a problem because that selonoid is the one that activates the clutch changes. Hopefully this solution will help others on this forum with similar issues.

Another DCT transmission with low fluid level.

I have a 2021 SF Limited, 8000 miles, and it definitely has a shudder when I come to a complete stop. It's more pronounced when I'm stopping quickly. If I roll to a very slow stop, if is less noticeable. There is no shudder when accelerating. I have a service appointment next week at the dealer. This is definitely not normal nor acceptable. I will post an update after my service visit.
Same at 10k. Dealer twice could not duplicate. Then at around 18k got real bad. Jumping when vehicle put in Rev. Would lunge backward and noticeable thud. I have an awesome dealership. Been buying santa fe's since 2003 every 2 years. I asked them to put an A tech in the car and take it home for the weekend. They called it an extended road test. Lol. He was able to duplicate. New trans on order.

I have a 2021 SF Limited and sounds like I have the same issue. I'm at 15K and have a service appointment next week. This forum is great to have some backup. My SF will also lunge forward when downshifting which in California stop-and-go traffic is bad. I usually keep my setting at comfort.

Man, hope my new 2022 built in April doesn't have that. But unless Hyundai already knew what's happening, it might still have it. Guess I'll find out soon enough. When did the 2.5T/DCT come out? 2021 or 2020? Thx. Good luck to those with the problem. I use sport all the time, by the way.

2021 mated to the 2.5T engines. Same as in the Sonata's with the 2.5T's. Both models had issues in the Jan-Mar '21 build timeframes but no failures like those have been reported in the past year.

Stick exactly with the engine and DCT break-in procedure in the manual (keeping the RPM in the 2000-4000 range for the first 1K miles or so) and you should be good to go.

Thanks man, but where the **** is that info? HATE Korean manuals man. Not sure if it's the ****** translation, or what, but nothing makes sense. Can't find anything on break-in, running-in, and it's not on 'driving your vehicle' section 6. I'd appreciate if you remember at least which section it was. Thank you.

EDIT: Found it. On page 1-7. Crazy that is not anywhere on any index. Anyway, it says for 600 miles maintain rpm from 2K to 4K, therefore, driving in sport mode... which I always do. Otherwise, the engine basically runs just above idle, which is crazy. Also no hard braking, and that kind of thing (no towing, etc).

Yup, that's what it is. As I was paranoid, I just keep doing it and tapering off after 800 miles or so. It's basically so the rings will seat correctly. Also the TCU is in it's leaning period for the first couple thousand miles when it will greatly smooth out. There is a procedure that if they have to replace the transmission or TCU, on how to upload the data from the old TCU to the new one so that it doesn't have to relearn how you drive again.

I have been following this forum for a couple months due to transmission issues with our 2021 Santa Fe Limited 2.5
I was able to make an appointment at our local dealership and wrote the tech a long list of persistent problems quoting this forum. Exaxmple: Jolting into 1st / Reverse. Shakiness in stop and go. Slamming when coming to a moderate stop etc.

Resoltion: They claimed that as of yesterday 08/18/2022 hyundai has announced a recall for those transmissions. I haven't been able to find it online (yet) but after they called me back they said they resolved the issue. They replaced the control module or updated the software (can't tell from the work order) and it was a SIGNIFICANT improvement from how I brought it there. My wife and I are going to drive it around but as of right now it seems to be fixed. Will post again is problem comes back up and I can post the warranty repair order if it's helpful to anyone.

What is the build date of your Limited? It's on the B-Pillar right under the VIN.

Also do you have the 2.5 or the 2.5 Turbo?
