I'm planning on replacing my spark plugs myself. (Dealer wants $515!!) I bought the Iridium plugs and gasket. Also bought some thread anti seize and dielectric grease for the boot end of the plugs. is it OK to use Seafoam? Car has 130,000 miles and has never given me a problem. Quaker State 0-20 every 4,000 miles. any thoughts on this?
thanks,
Tony:)

Where are you wanting to use it? Seafoam has lot's of uses. Tank, crankcase, or top engine cleaner?

depending on what the pistons look like with an endoscope. if I see a lot of carbon, i'll spray with the tube thru the throttle plate. if clean then just pour it into the gas tank and maybe some in the oil. I've not used much additives. just top tier gas and regular oil changes, etc.

Seafoam is a good top engine cleaner, just don't go too fast and then give it a time to soak. Now sure where the best "intake" is on a Hyundai for it. I've used it in the past going through the brake booster line on other cars. Not sure if spraying through the throttle plate will get all areas.

If your going to use it in the oil, put it in shortly before an oil change.

Be prepared for a lot of smoke on restart and I'd do it before the new plugs.

I have used sea foam on my 3.3 and 3.8 (NF and TG)....seems to work just fine. I do what the bottle says.

1/3 in the gas tank when it's about half full of gas.

1/3 through the engine oil spout (I think they say drive it for about 30 miles or so and you would replace oil immediately after those 30 or miles).

1/3 through vaccum hose little by little.

200k + miles on both cars and ok so far.

I do it every oil change - every 6k w/ Rpurple.
