Ok, so I now am daily driving my black 06 Azera and my wife is driving the 09. I am leaving the Sonata for in town driving and weekend errands etc...
I know there are threads comparing the NF and TG Azera and that debate will never end...even though clearly the Azera is just more car. lol
Buuut, my real question for this thread is what is the difference between the 06 and 09? I tried to be clever and swap out the headlight assembly while I buff out the newer 09 ones...come to find that the harness (male / female points) do not match up.
Now that I drive the 06, I have some time (or bother to actually tend to this car properly). The suspension on this car is crazy, everyone knows that. I am riding in the 09's and it seems miles better. No noise, and it seems a tad bit stiffer than the 06.
I did ebay search on 2009 upper control arm...it doesn't fit the 06 apparently. Can anyone tell me what they changed on the 09s suspension wise. I did some google searches and most reviews mention "updated suspension" but doesn't elaborate on actual parts.
I realize my 09 is way younger with 87K versus the 200K on the black one...but considering I changed struts, strut mounts, sway bar link kits 2-3 years ago, it's clunking and creaking like crazy. I took to shop yesterday finally, to find out the upper control arms are making noise and both KYB fronts are bad. I initially thought it was a lower control arm bushing..but nope. Shop tells me those are just fine.
Anyone have any recommendations on the TG Azera specific brands as far as suspension. I did Monroe strut mounts, moog sway bar links, and KYB struts / shocks all around. Beck Arnley was the upper control mounts. These brands have been great on my Sonata; in fact my KYBs are off the Sonata now, but they were still good at more than 6years! Not one creak. So, am wondering what happened with the Azera.
