QUOTE Does anyone else notice a little rough riding for the first 1/2 mile or so after the car has sat overnight or the weekend?
Yes! And it bugs the crap outta me. It's worse in the winter when it's cold, too - I think the tires stick with being out of round much longer. I don't know if it's a problem with the tires themselves, or the wheel design. When did you get your Sonata, zrago? I see that you're from Illinois - if you didn't have it on cold days in the wintertime, be prepared for some more of that out-of-round feeling, but having it last much much longer than 1/2 mile. Mine does it even during the daytime, when I leave it parked at work. Now, since the weather is warmer, it goes away pretty quickly. I LOVE SUMMERTIME!!!

QUOTE(mc229 @ Apr 13 2006, 08:02 PM) Good to know! So it doesn't matter what brand of tire you buy when the time comes to replace them? I'm nearing 30000 miles and quite interested in everybody's opinions here as to which replacement tires I should buy.
30,000 ? Our car will be a year old next month and we're just a tick over 7,000.

QUOTE i get the feeling you guys are just oversensitive... are any of you attracted to the same sex..... Now that you mention it, I have always found your posting style incredibly sexy. Don't worry, though, I'm a big, manly, discreet 6'6" 300 lb. teddy bear that just needs a little beeyotch for some good times. Whaddya doing later, honey? :wink2: (sarcasm in case anyone took it too seriously)

QUOTE Found 2 recommended Kumho tires for the LX at www.tirerack.com 1.Ecsta ASX $88 each / 2. Ecsta KH11 $108 each Check with a local Kumho dealer in your area, you may get a better deal including mounting. You can also get more info at Kumho Tire's web site.
Thanks for the info! How many miles are the Kumhos supposed to last? In other words, are they a "softer," less durable rubber? The Michelins are only supposed to last 30k miles according to my dealer, but my tread seems pretty thick to me (they were amazed how thick it was when I had it in for the 22,500 mile service). I'm really good to my car, though, don't race it, don't peel out, and only cruise at 55 mph on the highway lately. Before I would occasionally take it up to a triple-digit jaunt, but that was only for a half-mile or so every now and then and didn't peel out in the tires. I'm hoping for more than 30,000 miles before I have to change them, in other words.
