Just wanted to know how many of you got factory pinstriping on thier new 06 Sonata?

Mine came with a grey and silver pinstripe on the Dark Mica Cinnamon.

Anybody else?

Since we discussed this earlier, I just wondered what everybody thinks about the pinstripe on my LX?

I think it adds a nice line to the car that compliments the wheel color.

That's a dealer applied application. They all had it where I got my car. My car had just come off the truck and still had the factory shipping protective paper on it, so no pin stripes.

I made sure they didn't put them on my car. I just don't care for them.

Mine came with a dark gray stripe on my Arctic White Sonata (no charge0. I like stripes only if they're done correctly. I may remove it in the future & put on a different color to change the look a little.

My beige car came with black stripes on it and I did not ask for it - I had the dealership remove them before I took delivery (I also said NO dealer badges). Im not a big fan of pin striping - a car does not need pinstripes if it already has an asthetically pleasing design like the Sonata.

I like the added line on my car, i think it adds to the overall appearance.

After double checking mine are dark grey and silver pin stripes on the Dark Mica Cinnamon paint.

Getting a new digital camera shipped as we speak, hopefully sometime next week I can post some pictures.

cya.

I think some of the ealier 06 Sonatas (the ones that were being sold back in mid 05) had the pin stripes. I recall seeing them and not liking it back when I was checking it out. All the Sonatas i see now dont seem to have them...

My car was manufactured in October of 05 and I purchased it Jan 20th 06.

Actually I think it's a dealer option, my Santa Fe was bought from the same dealership and had pin stripes when I bought it.

Coachman I believe? I see the signature on the back of alot of new cars around Houston.

People, people. These stripes are a part of that $895 Scotch 3 M "Appearance Package". Almost all Dealers install this pure profit package, part of the unofficial add on sticker. Some people actually pay for this!. The stripes look good until they break.

Boy am I glad that they didn't put a stripe on my black beauty at the dealer! BTW, it is a dealer accessory, offered free at my dealership. I would guess that most people want it, because after I'd had my car for about a month I noticed that they had their striper doing the entire lot. I'm pretty sure I would've asked them to remove any stripe that would've been on my car before I picked it up - I should've had the presence of mind to ask for no dealer sticker, but I've removed that.

In my blunt but honest opinion, I feel like pinstriping a single-tone, base stock car is just for people who were wishy-washy about the color of their car and wanted to dress it up. I know I'll probably be publicly flogged for that opinion, but it is what it is.

Now if you have a Boyd Coddington ride with a custom paint job, and you have a pro come in and airbrush your pinstriping, then that's a different story.

Just my $.02 ($.03 Cdn)

Mine has a silver stripe and the first thing I said when I figured I was going to get it was "they're gone" but I haven't done it yet and I think they're growing on me. They'll probably stay. Same thing happened with the stripes that came on my old CRX and they stayed on the car till it went to the crusher.

According to my ADD-A-TAG, the Decor Package which sells for a suggested $480 includes Hand Painted Pin Stripes, not the cheap foil ones as applied on the Elantra, and Door edge guards. I like my stripe!

I think it adds a nice line to the car plus it compliments to the rims.

What do you think?
