Good Morning all my fellow Sonata owners!

A couple of recent experiences I thought I'd share with you.

First experience, I had to drive my girlfriends 05 Mazda 3, 2.3 hatchback the other day as she wasn't feeling very well and there was a lot of traffic and she bought a standard 5 speed, (don't ask, she read it was "funner" to drive) So we get back to my place and I jumped in my LX to follow her home and let me tell you, it was like heaven!

Smooth ride, easy power, I was like "thank you!" the Sonata blows that Mazda out of the water in every catagory! It's like the Mazda feels cheap and hard with a terrible lack of power, I actually had to look down thinking the parking brake was on or something!

Second experience, well she wanted to buy an area rug for her condo and I was thinking how in the **** are we going to get a 8x10.6ft area rug home? Well guess what, I folded the 60 rear seat down and ran the rug from inside the trunk into the cab and wedged it between the two front seats with no problem!

The guy working the loading bay looked at me and said "what kind of car is that?" I told him it was a Hyundai Sonata and he looked at me like I was on crack or something! He walked around front to copy my plate number and told me he used to have an old one, but never thought Hyundai would ever make anything like this! He checked it out for a couple of minutes and told me nice ride and I said thanks!

Proud to own my Sonata LX!

Hey thanks for the tid bits! Yeah I was looking at the Mazda 3 for a while before I got my 05 Saab 92x and realized I just need a bigger car no two ways about it. Also when you think you are getting a better car for a cheaper price with the Sonata there's no contest between the two. Today as I'm driving to work there's a long stretch of country road, you know the kind that if the person in front of you is going 30 MPH you feel like it's going to take forever to get to work. I went to pass this guy in a truck and I punch it as we're going up a pretty steep hill. I fly back in my seat and I'm feeling g-forces and I'm thinking to myself holy crap! This thing can boogie! I have been taking it really easy with the break in period.

Another moment with the Sonata. I washed it by hand for the first time this weekend. The deepwater blue looks gorgeous all shined up. I walk into work this morning and look back at it and I'm so totally impressed with it. It looks like an AMG Mercedes or something. The wheels definitely have an AMG look to them. Sweet!

Ya, the deepwater blue looks great... on sunny days. Here's a freshly-washed one. It looks like someone air brushed some trees on it. :)

over the weekend i had to use a rental car (due to issues with the Buick). I chose a rental place that carried Hyundai in the hopes I could score an 06 Sonata to live with for a few days. Unfortuantely they were all booked so I got an 06 Sebring. The Sebring has nice front seats,a good motor and grippy brakes. The interior materials though were pretty cheap (hard plastics throughout). The rear seats are a bit small, the window openings were small, and the forward design means the hood is non-existant.

I spoke to a few guys at the rental place and they all love the new Sonata. Now that could be just the sales people playing up their vehicles, but the one guy said his buddy owns the previous gen 03 Sonata and with 100,000K on it with out any repairs needed. He agreed that the current model is the best bang of the buck.

Not even a dent. My Sonata cracked that tree into a thousand pieces! :)
