Hello, I finally had my stereo replaced by an authorised installation center, and the stereo guy let me take pictures of the process.
Before all started:
You have to remove three screws on each side of the center panel, to view the screws you have to remove a plastic cover first.
Then, the radio and box trim is removed by lifting each of the four sides using a trim tool or flat screwdriver (no screws). Be carefull since this plastic may break very easily.
This is how it looks when this trim piece is removed:
Then you remove the A/C - clock trim piece the same way as the previous one - no screws, use a plastic trim tool or a small flat screw driver to lift all four corners. Be careful since the plastic trim can break very easy. Unplug all connector from the switches and clock.
Remove the four screws that hold the A/C panel:
Now remove the two screws holding the center console (near the A/C panel):
Now you are able to remove the hole center panel to reach the screws that hold the stereo:
Remove the stereo from the casing and replace it.
Now you have to install all the panels, connectors and screws in the reverse order.
Remember that both the stereo trim panel and the A/C console trim panel will just snap into place. Secure four corners by slighltly pressing on each side one at the time.
Now the new MP3/WMA Kenwood KDC-MP 2028 stereo is installed and working:
I hope that my experience will help you. But remember that if you do not feel confortable removing the plastic trims (they may break) that you should see your professional installer.
