Hi all

Had the "upgrade" today, after 34460 miles in my Tucson - too early to tell yet if there is any improvement but I am annoyed that the overall mileage counter has started again from zero - I now have to calculate the service intervals manually and will no doubt lead to some interesting discussions with potential future buyers!

My local dealer said that the mileometer can be reduced but not increased, which didn't seem to make sense to me, surely Hyundai would have thought of that when designing the upgrade - obviously not!

Regards

there has been talk of this before on this forum about the milelage being reset to zero when the modification on the diesels have been done, this does seem to be 'out of order' and l would have thought that hyundai would have found a way around this when thay offered this upgrade package. however as far as l know there has been no feedback on this issue as yet

Hi Montego, Skybird and Everyone else.

About 3 weeks since my modification took place and I have found that according to my new UK calculator fuel used wequals 34 to the gallon. I have not yet used all the tankfull up and when this has been done I will advise my actual mpg figures.
I am running with a CR powerbox installed as this I have found smoothes out the accelleration and the torque is increased in the lower revs.

Now yes my milometer was reading zero when I got it backbut are you aware that Hyundai replaced the whole cluster! If you look at it now it has a chromed or silvery look to it. Before I took my keys into the dealers for the refit I took a photo of my actual mileage completed and the dealer has noted it in the service/warranty book.

More later

Regards

It looks like there are different packages, I had my 15.000 km service last week, and I got a software upgrade only, not replacement parts (or at least I was told so). FC is now ~30 MPG (imperial) ( ~9.5 l/100km) mainly city driving, it was ~22.5 iMPG, (~12.5 l/100km), and my mileometer is the same as before.

Itza,
do you have an automatic? I'm thinking about the CR powerbox, but I don't know how the automatic gearbox will handle it.

Do you guys have any info on the automatic unit is the same in our cars as in the ones with new VGT engine?
If so it will handle the added torque OK I guess.

Teo
Your vehicle could handle the extra torque no problem but I would first check to see if they make the CR Powerbox for your model engine yet.
They make it at the moment for the common rail diesel only.
Hope this helps

I got the cr powebox after Itza recomendation, its well worth it. The car is smoother and acceleration has improved, my consumption slighlty improved as well. I am going for the uprade this week. Maybe worth starting a thread on how the uprades have improved (or not) the consumption.

Hi guys,

My upgrade was done today:-
Click for my report and pictures of the parts.

Geoff - I agree, I think the new cluster looks shinier silver. My Mileage was also reset to zero!

Funny thing is that at the garage we couldn't find my Service Book for them to fill in the Change of Mileage section.

They won't get paid by Hyundai UK until they can do this! Nearly £1000

I hope they haven't lost it, they were the ones to have it last.
