OK, let's talk some regular aftermarket goodies. Does anyone have any good online shops that carry more 'run of the mill' accessories (ie fitted floor mats, cargo nets, vent visors, etc)? I've seen some on EBay, but I was wondering if there was a better source? I bought a set of floormats at Wal-ly World, so I wouldn't ruin my nice 'Sonata' mats, but they don't have that nice custom fit look.
Also, someone mentioned where to find replacements for the 17" tires. I'd like to replace the doughnut with a full size spare. Does anyone know if the spare bay will hold it? It looks like it might, but then again it may only fit a 16".

QUOTE(steveramz @ Mar 17 2006, 08:27 AM) I recommend the easiest mods first.
We've got to get rid of the dealer logo, and the 'Sonota' and 'Model' depending on your taste. I would just leave the 'H'...
How do you get rid of the dealer logo? Ours has a 3D plastic type.

QUOTE(bobad @ Mar 28 2006, 09:16 AM) If you live in a sparsely populated area, a real spare can be worth it. Not sparsly populated, but the majority of my commute is on the NYS Thruway, which is limited access. Since I drive 80+ miles on that road a day, it would be nice to be able to put on a full size tire, drive home, then deal with the flat. Driving 40 miles, at 75MPH in traffic, on a donut spare, is not the best situation. Does anyone know if Hyundai roadside works on the NYS Thruway? I know there are only certain towing shops that have contracts with the state. Even AAA has some sort of special arrangement that is still a bit of a hassle.

Drives: Getting a Sonata 2006 LX I think

|
Any luck on getting these body kits? I think I might pick up a Sonata - I'm im the market for a car and I'm leaning towards the Sonata '06. I really wanted a sporty small Sedan, but I didn't want to be a poser with some lame 325 or girly Audi. Also, I'm Korean which makes this all the much sweeter. And makes not buying Japanese cars (they raped my country) a necessity. I wanted a few more horses than the Elantra could give me, so I think the Sonata's V6 is gonna do it. Also, I'm 6'2" so my head scrapes against the top of the Tiburon, which I don't really like anyway. I thought I might compromise with the sporty-ness and not blending in with the Sonata's body kit. IGN Cars: Studie SonataI could only find stuff in Korea for compelling body kits, except for an erebuni ground effects body kit I found on Ebay. Problem is I don't think it looks nearly as good as those Studie ones...those are pretty hot. The best I could find those for in the US was on some of those importer site that did group buys. Anyone else down? You have to buy at least 5 if you want them to just ship you one. I also don't know how to get stuff like this installed - anyone know of a good place in the SF Bay Area for modding these Hyundais? Should I just check at the store for a good body kit? Or should I just get a new Saturn Sky...man I wish Koreans made a convertible.

I know that most people do aero kits for looks, and I really didn't much like the looks of the Studie kit until I saw it in black. On the other colors, I thought it made the car look too thick, but it looks nice and balanced in the black. Luckily I have a black Sonata.
My question is this: Would having the Studie kit give the Sonata more stability during windy conditions due to increased downforce, or is it truly just there for looks? My one major complaint about my car is that it feels a little twitchy when it gets windy - you can feel it so much in the front that it makes it feel as though the wheels are not balanced properly (they are).
If I'm assuming the wrong functionality about the aero kits, please explain to me what they really do (if anything). Plus, can you get the Studie kit without the grille (I don't like that one, in any color!)?
Thank you.
