GPS is factory fitted on some markets in europe (on the azera) so it's not an issue thats down to the factory, the question is if hyundai america (or anywhere else you may live) decide to let you have it, it all boils down to price and what they think the public will pay

If you are looking for a navigation systeym, they are actually available now for the 2006 Sonata. You would have to get it from the dealer, which can purchase it from a company called MobisUSA, which is a company of Hyundai's. It is not cheap though, list price of $2k. I looked at the install instructions, and it doesn't look easy. The install instructions show plenty of pictures all the way up until the final install of the unit into the dash, so I don't have an installed pics. I was actually looking into this today. I emailed them earlier today to see if they could provide me with some installed pics of the navigation system in the '06 Sonata. I have not heard back yet, but will keep you updated if I ever come up with some pictures.

that system is actually available for most of Hyundai's models, we got the kit for the current Santa Fe, the install is pretty easy, but it is quite pricey!

I'm sure Hyundai will have to start offering it as an option either next year or the year after. They're already installing the Eclipse nagivation system in the new Sonatas....and I'm considering getting one put in also. It appears that although the actual corporation are not taking must notice to consumer requests, the dealerships are.
