Just a quick note to say I have just got rid of my Terracan with 70000 miles on it in 20 months, after the diff was sorted by 30000 I have had NO FAULTS. The car averaged 28mpg and used 1 litre of oil to 10000 miles tyres lasted 40k on the front and 60k on the rear, the car was loaded fully and permanently as I use my car for work as mobile engineer and pulled a caravan at weekends so its fair to say it worked for a living!!!!!!!!!

Guess what I've just bought , another Terracan, they have their niggles but it does what I want superbly.

I've had aftermarket cruise added this time as it badly needs it, roll on the new version in a couple of years.

very happy owner

Hammy

In Denmark the aftermarket cruise control used is the AP800 - apparently from Lite-On Auto (yep, they make pc gear as well).

Opposite older systems (relies on vacuum and mechanical pull) this one cooperates with the OEM harness and is merely a click-on. Has to connect to the throttle senser, but it designed for modern drive-by-wire systems.

Hammy, great to hear the good report mate! I am 65000kms and going strong, fingers crossed it'll stay that way. Your Terracan sure sounded like it earned her keep.

Just out of interest, why do you need the aftermarket cruise fitted? I thought it would be a factory option. Its a standard factory feature in Oz. All Terracans sold here have it as far as I know.

You could get your dealer to fit the factory cruise.

Cheers, Yogi.

Hi Yogi in answer to your question cruise is not on the options list in the UK and dealers cant or wont supply the factory fit option even as an extra however the aftermarket set up is great. 30000 miles up on my second Terracan and as expected going great with no probs.

happy motoring, Hammy

Wow thats strange isn't it. I wonder what the reasoning is for that. If the aftermarket kit is gives good results then no big deal anyway. I love the cruise control, couldn't live with out it now.
