I broke my power antenna off in a car wash (forgot to shut off radio). Do I need to replace the whole antenna system or can I replace just the rods? How do you get to the antenna?

I think you will have replace the whole antenna , but you should definitely check with your dealer . It might be cheaper to install a universal power antenna from a autoparts store . To access the antenna you have to remove part of the trunk liner .

YOU CAN REPLACE THE ANTENNA MAST FOR THAT CAR. YOU NEED TO TURN RADIO ON , UNSCREW SILVER CAP AT BASE OF THE ANTENNA , PULL UP ON THE MAST ( YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL VERY HARD).WITH RADIO ON STILL,PUSH THE END OF THE MAST INTO THE OPENING (ONCE AGAIN IT WILL BE VERY HARD) ,THEN HAVE WHO EVER IS HELPING YOU TURN RADIO OFF AND GUIDE MAST INTO OPENING,SCREW IN CAP , YOU MAY NEED TO TURN RADIO ON AND OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES TO GET THE MAST TO GO UP AND DOWN FULLY.IF MAST WONT GO INTO ANTENNA WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF YOUR NOT PUSHING IN HARD ENOUGH.

I have went to the dealer trying to get a mast for my 2000 and it was going to be very cheap, they quoted me about 12 dollars. The parts manager told me the same procedure above but i didnt know it was going to pul real hard. For now i just have a bent mast from driving to fast i guess.

My antenna rod broke in half, but the white cord is still attached. I've tried pulling very, very hard on it and it's not coming out. I did unscrew the silver cap, but that didn't really seem to do much. I've attached a picture. Can anybody suggest something I'm missing?
