I know it's probably too early for anyone to know, but I just saw this at the auto show and want one. My '02 Elanta just doesn't cut it for the "fun" factor :-)

One thing I am interested in is finally adding a supercharger or turbo to my car. I thought about doing this to my Elantra a few years back, but I didn't want to invest the $$$ when so many other components would be straining to keep up with any additional power it generated.

Any ideas on when a good charger would be available? Thanks.

this car and engine are brand new, and performance parts for it will likely be in low demand. I doubt you will see a supercharger/turbo for it anytime soon

well if thats the case mikeNH is right, you will find it impossible to get any performance parts for the axera, but why would you want too? from what l have heard the azera goes like the clappers anyway so why would you want to turn it into some sort of dragster and void the warranty to boot?

hahaha if you have to ask then I probably can't explain to you why! For some poeple, more power is always better, even if you have to make some sacrifices. On some of the truck sites I'm also a member of there are guys running 12s in the quarter mile- which is as fast/faster than some very good sports cars- in a 5000+ pound pickup! So I guess all I can really say is Why you ask? Why not! haha

MikeNH - Thanks, that's what I figured. I just got real excited and figured I might as well ask ;-)

montego - Yes, I'm talking about the Azera. Sorry for any confusion.

It would be pretty cool to throw on a supercharger, headers, and a better exhaust and then go out and hunt Mustang GTs. They wouldn't know what hit 'em...provided, of course, you were just racing from light to light. If you wanted to use the steering wheel, you'd have to beef up your suspension componentry too. Still, though, great fun!
