Had my 97 J2 Lantra up to 182 km/hr just out side Alice Spings, the K&N pod filter and Custom Extractors and sports muffler really make it a new car.

Can't wait to see what it will do with Forced induction :innocent:

272 km/h GPS, stopped by the rev limiter.

This was in a Seat Ibiza 1.8 Turbo, "tuned" to 327 hp by ECU remapping, a Mercedes Intercooler and an oversized turbo from Porche and customized manifolds + exhaust.

Know the feeling of dizzynes when getting up to fast from tieing shoelaces?

Same feeling occurred in the passenger seat when it was given full throttle through the gears.

Hi all,

The following is not strongly recommended for life/license longevity. Not socially acceptable, either, particularly in built up areas.

The 1.8l standard will achieve 200+km/h indicated.

Comfortably done with good suspension and tyres.

I am a little surprised that you're only getting 180+ even with mods.

ridewake found the enforced end.

Had my j2 99 lantra at 215km/h on f6 freeway.Stock standard except for bilstein gas shocks, a proper cold air induction,(not that air pod stuck in a hot engine bay ****, and exedy cbb hd clutch. (cushion brass button heavy duty)

This is a true indicated speed, reported to me by my girlfriend when i asked her.she was in passenger seat and i was driving too fast to look at speedo. i was trying to catch a mazda rx8 that flew by me.

Still have lantra done in excess of 200.000 kms in 7 years. driven hard, and considering that all thats been done is a few spark plugs, fuel and air filters, oil changes and a set of ignition leads and 2 timing belts in its life. it drives well doesnt miss a beat and has no oil leaks. now thats reliability

131mhp (Just over 210kph) GPS speed on the motorway. Slight tail wind on the flat.

The car does really not like sustaining this speed though. To be honest, this car is fantastic cruising car (50-60mph) once you get above 70mph the engine noise becomes clearly audible even above a stereo at moderate volume, and the car control does change slightly. It isn't as smooth when it turns and the steering becomes very snatchy.

If you want speed, really you have the wrong car.

I've gone about 175 Km/hr too. And I think had I kept on, I could have touched 200 or so. But it wasn't an empty highway and I thought it wouldn't be safe to continue on at that speed. Specially since the car seemed to become a little unstable once I crossed 150 Km/hr.

I'm not a winner here, but I did hit a hair above 110 in my old 97 elantra with 80K on the odo. All stock, and I would have went faster, but there was a mild turn about a mile up the road, so I wanted to back off.

I have steadily gone 90-100 on highways in that car before. My poor accent has trouble going 95 down hill with a tail wind!

Are you guys a bunch of idiots? Why the **** would you want to drive an Elantra that fast anyway? Are you doing it on a private track? I sure as **** hope you're not doing it on public roadways because when you wipe out and kill yourselves, you're probably going to take the life of some innocent people with you.

Think about it...

To the audio guy, if you don't have your fastest speed to put on here then don't talk s*** when you kknow you will get f***ed up. Its our choice on going whatever speed we want and there is nothing you can do about it so shut the F*** up a-hole! Don't even bother posting again cuz your obviously stupid.
