hi, i just went to clean the plugs on my car and i thought i might as well change the wires, and i went to put them back on and i didn't remember how they went. The cap has a mark where the #1 wire should be and i have tried starting it a few times and i have no idea whats going on. it farts a little but will not start? I never touched anything else. any ideas as to what i can do. ? I have looked into the firing order and i am pretty sure it is 1 3 4 2. we set the engine to TDC and the rotor is pointing to the post on the distributer which the number one wire should be at. is this correct ? anything that will affect the way the car starts? Thanks

what you have done is right, set the engine to tdc with the rotor arm pointing to the no 1 mark on the distributor cap that is obviously no1 plug wire (sorry l can't remember which direction the rotor arm goes) so flick the starter to check whether its clockwise or anti and when you have determined that fit the other wires in order of rotation (1 3 4 2)
