I bought my accent about 6 months ago, its 1998 LSi 1.3, have had no problems at all until the battery died on me, turned out to be a loose terminal which was sparking and discharged it. Anyhow, since sorting the battery, by getting a new terminal, everything is just as it was, except that the airbag warning light is on all the time. It does seem to have been triggered by the battery dying. Is there any way of resetting it or fixing the problem without taking to main dealer and paying stupid money??

Thanks
Andrew

Yes I have the same problem. My battery went flat and a new one was fitted.
This appears to have triggered the light to stay on.
I too am looking for a cure.

Yes, low voltage in the system will turn on the SRS light. Only the Hyundai dealer can cancel the code in the system. The light might go out by itself after a while, till the SRS control module realises no more voltage fluctuations.

I am led to believe that it is am easy job to reset the airbag warning light. It may be a matter of repeated activation of the interior door light switch etc. I dont believe it needs a dealer to sort this out. If any Hyhundai mechanic knows how it is done can they please post. I for one do not intend to pay £30 for for a 2 minute fix.

Why only the Air Bag light would be on because of a charging problem baffles me...

Has any one got a rattle coming from the engine compartment when de-accelerating, could it be the exhaust? it goes away when the clutch is pressed in.

Sorted the rattle out.
After stripping half the engine down I found it was the speedo cable!

the SRS & ABS light can only be switched off with the Hyundai Scanner. See your dealer , it takes less then 5min.

I have the same problem on a 1998 Accent, is it due to age or just requires resetting?? is there a home fix for this?? I hate paying dealers or "stealers" loads of money for a fix I can do
