Lots of wheels fit on the excel but not many allow for the 4 bolt heads that protrude from the wheel mounting surface between the studs. I put some Nissan pintara rims on my girlfriend's excel and i had to drill holes to let the bolt heads through and I had to file the centre hole from 66mm to 67mm. It's hardly worth all that trouble. Find wheels that fit properly as is. Your best be would be 14's of a Hyundai Lantra or a few Mitsubishis in the late '80's had 4x 114.3mm rims with a 67mm centre bore which is what you want. I have 14" x 5.5" rims with an offset of 45mm and 185/60R14 tyres and they stick out a little more than desirable at the front so try and find some with an offset of about 50mm (don't like your chances). Even though that little project of mine was harder than i thought, the end result is good. Better steering response, better grip, looks AWESOME for the price with a good set of hub caps.

I picked up some 14 inch steel wheels from a wrecker the other day for our Rallycross X2. AUD$35 each.

Ugly and heavy though... :)

I know it's a bit late for my reply BUT.....

I found some really nice 13" 5 star rims online and supposedly they fit perfectly on a '94 Hyundai Excel. The tire size on a 1994 Hyundai Excel CX is "P 185 / 80 R 13".

Now there is some information on those rims I found and I'm not exactly sure what this information means. Can anybody help me out here?

Size: 13x5.5
Backside Spacing (in/mm): 4.625/117
Offset: 35mm

Under the heading "Size" I realize the "13" indicates the number of inches, but what does the "5.5" represent? (Width of the rim, possibly?)

And what is "Backside Spacing" and "Offset" mean? Do those numbers I've listed coincide with the 1994 Hyundai Excel CX's specs? If anybody can help out (in plain English) please let me know as I'm considering on buying those rims.

Thanks people.

I stumbled upon THIS page from PartsProvider.net while searching for rims that would fit my '93 Excel. Although this link will bring you to a 15" rim that they are trying to sell @ $169.99 ea, it gets pretty in-depth about nomenclature for describing a rim including offsets and back spacing. Scroll to the bottom and feed your brain. I hope this helps. Keep us posted on what works for you. Its time for new rubber on mine so upgrading is on my list too.

Here's a "cut-and-paste" of the same URL just incase the link above doesnt work...

ADDITIONALLY: An in depth document specifically on tires HERE. It's a bit of a read with no pictures.

if ur lookinb 4 stockies pretty any 4 bolt hyundai wheel will work...nearly all hyundai 4 bolts r 4x4.5" which is i think 4x114.3mm patern. accents, and elantras came w/ 14's and arent to shabby, but pretty much every wheel company carries 14"... and 15's or 16's if u wanna stuff um in. just double check wheel offsets and buy sum rims. i do know that centerline makes steelies for dirt and stock carsi have a set of black bullethole steelies on my 92 excel they look nice...but i like super tough wheels i abuse they and they last those rims u got the tires are gonna b 2 tall it will screw up ur speedo. u want 155/80/13 , 175/70/13, or 185/60/13 but good luck on the last cuz they r extremely hard to find
