I have a 1993 Aust. spec. 18 DOHC Lantra 5 speed with a G4CN motor.
My Question is has anybody tried to put a Mitsubishi 4G93 (or 4G63) DOHC turbo motor in one of these ?
In Australia Front cuts of lancers and Gallants with these motors are readily available and cheaper than getting my Hyundai motor rebuilt and a little bit dearer than getting a low mileage used motor - The 4G93 is physically the same dimentions and has the same engine mounts (I am not sure of the Gearbox bolt patterns but believe them to be the same too )
So would there be any major reason why this could not be done ?

Hi,

FYI and jpy, the G4CN and 4G93 are essentially the same motor.

Go forth, swap and turbofy!

Get some brakes and suspension that really do work though.

New rotors, braided lines and a visit to the "Performance Styling Centre" or Pedders for some suspension would be the first stop.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Andrew

Brakes have already been upgraded .
So it sounds like the 4G93 is a no brainer .
Thanks for answering.

What brakes have you upgraded to?

Does anyone know if this models hub fit on a 94 Excel?

Is this a captive rotor/hub

Thanks in advance
