I am a new member, happy to join you all.
I would like to discuss the following:
My car Lantra lost most of its coolant rapidly, and yet the temperature gage didn't show the temperature reaching the red zone.
Do you have any explanations?
Is it possible that the the temperature transmitter/ sensor in the engine was not
submerged in the coolant due to its sudden loss? If so, is it possible that it doesn't show overheating temperature if not submerged in the coolant?

Thanks in advance!

Unevetibly, you sound like you are experiencing problems that are associated with a blown head gasket.
Do you have access to any mechanical testing equipment?

you must get the system checked.
Perhaps is the Valve located just at the exit of the fluid from the engine.
it usually fails (as in every car).

Best regards
