I need to replace a bulb in my 2002 sonata's driver side fog light. Not sure what needs to be done. Headlights have been a snap but not sure the best way to go about changing the fog light. It looks like it's got screws that need to be removed and it doesn't look very accessible through the hood and it's awkward going under the car and behind the bumper.

Any advice/directions out there?

According to my 2002 shop manual, you need to remove the bumper cover (the entire plastic bumper. Sounds like a big job, good luck.

I tried on my '02 Sonata and gave up. It seemed too complicated. Fortunately, mine blew and replaced under warranty anyway.

Here is the entire procedure in the 2002 Hyundai Shop Manual:

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the turn signal lamp and head lamp assembly
3. Remove the front bumper cover. Disconnect the wire connector and remove the front fog lamp.
4. Installation is the reverse of removal.

My warranty plan says that light bulbs are not covered. How did you get them to replace the fog lamp under warranty? Please let know, becuase I have one out and was going to replace it myself. Thanks.

It's an easy **** job doing the fog light bulb. Headlight and fog light bulbs are covered under the 5yr 60k mile warranty. Small bulbs such as brake lights, and market lights are only covered 12mon 12k miles. If it's too hard for you to go under the car to replace it, remove the 2 or 3 bolts that hold the headlight assembly in and remove it. After the headlight assembly is out, the fog lights is right there. Takes 5 minutes.
