Steering wheel on the wrong side?

Actually... one of your goofy cars would be great....

There is a rule in demo derby.... if you hit somebodies driver door intentionally, you are automatically DQ (which is why it is painted white)

I bet running one of your 'wrong side' steering cars would really screw people up. It would be fun to try. There are no rules against it.

and oh yeah... it is worth the effort for sure. There is nothing quite like skirting the rules (just inside the 'legal' line) to build yourself a tank, and then repeatedly smashing it into other cars (all similarly prepared)...

'fun' doesn;t even begin to describe it... and it is a relatively cheap sport, too. $100 for the car, and since then, all of the parts and event registration have been covered by sponsors... With the exception of the original $100 investment, I have spent less than $40 on the car....

...unless you count my time as worth something...

....but really, how much would you charge for drinking beer and tearing a car apart with no regard for putting it back together.....

maybe if I do well, I can get the beer sponsored next year.

Some after pics....

Didn't do all that well... finished in the bottom half... won 'best-dressed'....

The first pic is a picture taken moments after my last hit. I tried for the tire on the yellow volvo. My bumper was way too low. Slid almost right under the volvo... The top of my hood, and rad pushed into my distributor, and bent the shaft. Thats where it stopped. Not a very well thought out hit... but hey. Had to try.

The car was solid though. Made a few good hits... took a lot of good hits. Had lotsa fun, and wrecked the car for sure. Check out the leafs... no welds!

Oh yeah... they are tough cars for sure.

I am convinced that the Pony could win, though. It is a super tough car, with and unfortunate distributor location. I just need to raise the front end somehow (legally) a few more inches. That would protect it for sure.

I am already looking for next years. (hey, if anybody around the alberta area has a spare pony...)
