Hi, I'm considering buying an Elantra GT 5-door. My first child is due in early October, and we are looking for a cheap, reliable car which will fit a carseat in the back, and a stroller and other misc baby stuff in the rear hatch. I'd appreciate if anyone with kids can share their experience with the 5-door, especially how easy it is to load and unload a large stroller in the back. Thanks!

When I was in your stage of life, we had a Ford Tempo, and it worked just fine for the BSE (Baby Support Equipment). I would think the Elantra-5 would be at least as roomy if not roomier, and the hatch and fold-down seat can't hurt. The one downside is that if you load your kid, then your groceries, think about that big hatch closing over the kid's head, popping his or her eardrums every time. I have a hatchback and rear seat passengers have commented that when I close the hatch, there's quite a pressure pop.
