Ok, Just bought car like a month ago to later put a 4G63 Engine in it just waiting to build up some more fundage, so in the process i been cleaning it up under the hood and just overall hooking it up here and there.

But today i was sitting idle and when I went into reverse i heard a clanging noise against the ground I look under the car and laying on the ground is the wheel to my water pump, had to get it home quick as there was no v-belt hooking up to it and the alternator, it basically started to overheat bad and wouldn't restart due to no power.

My question is, how do i get this sucker back on, my buddy said a pressure kit to press it back on but I wasn't sure exactly what that is, any help would be great!!

it depends on what has broken, if the pulley has just come away from the pump flange it is only bolted on, if however the water pump flange has come away from the casing you will need to fit a new pump. you worry me when you say you drove the car until it got very hot, very bad idea, you can blow the head gasket and warp the cylinder head very easily on an aliminum engine

I know it worried me but i had no other way of getting it home :( hopefully there won't be to much damage, oil still good and there was still pressure in the radiator.

But the wheel came off, the stud is still there for it to slide on but there is no way to have that much strength to slide it on lol hopefully you can toss me some of your knowledge :D thanks much!

Can't wait to get this new engine... lol

from what l can gather from your post you are going to have to change the water pump and the re-fit the pulley on to the new pump
