Question

My Azera 2006 loaded has a set memory of the seat, steering wheel and foot pedels. When one sets everything up the way one whats it it should stay set if one pushes the button on the door that reads SET.

I have done this one time when I got my new Azera but lately I notice everytime I put the key in the ignition to start the car the sterring wheel moves towards me. The same happens when I turn the car off the steering wheel moves back in place. Is there a way to lock the steering wheel so it doesn't move? I never noticed this before so I must have bumped something last week. I see on the bottom of the steering wheel there is a up down front back button. I thought there may be something there that locks the sterring wheel into a lock position, but there isn't.

Do I need to press SET on the door to keep the steering wheel locked?

Thanks

Interesting that you are just noticing this. My '07 Limited has this feature, its easy access. the wheel goes back when you turn the key off to make it easier to get in and out. Once the ignition is turned on, the wheel moves into the preset position that you set for either position 1 or position 2. Always has worked that way for me. I can't remember if this is one of the features that the dealer can set for you. Did you just recently replace a battery? As long as the wheel is going to the correct position that you have set then it sounds like it is actually working like it is suppose to.

I did replace the battery a few months back but I never noticed the steering wheel moving back and forth when I put the key in or when I taken the key out. I guess I just never paid any attention until yesterday. I would think if I pre set the seat, and all the other stuff the steering wheel would be set in the same position and wouldn't move when putting the key in or taking the key out. I looked in the manual and didn't see anything about the steering wheel staying in a set position.

I just never noticed this before and alway thought that the steering wheel sayed in one spot all of the time with an option of moving it.

Not sure?
