Just had a letter this morning asking me to take my car to be checked

"Recently Hyundai identified that on some Hyundai i20 models it was possible for the throttle cable to come into contact with the main wiring loom, which could over a period of time cause damage to the loom. In such cases the fuse that protects the affected electrical circuit would blow, resulting in a failure of an electrical function."

It will take less than 20 minutes apparently and is of course free.

My model is a 3 door 1.2 bought in july 2009 Bristol UK

Any one else had this through?

Yes, I had the letter through yesterday. Taking it to the garage next week. I've always had a bit of a problem with the accelerator pedal being a bit sticky so I'm wondering now if its something to do with this.

There was a topic on a wiring upgrade a few months ago, as far as I can remember no one explained what the problem was, maybe this is it?

Ive also had the letter, and have always had a problem with my accelerator pedal being a bit sticky, giving a kangaroo effect in slow traffic ! I've also noticed that the petrol consumption has gone down to around 28 mpg since a few weeks ago. (round town). The revs have always seemed quite high, so is this causing the high petrol consumption?
