Hello,
Last week the ABS, engine, Brakes, Airbag lights warning lights all lit up at once. The problem was diagnosed as a faulty alternator. After the alternator was replaced all of the warning lights are now dark except for the airbag light. It is still lit up. I was told there must be an ABS wiring issue in the steering column. I think this is much too coincidental and I think the light just needs to be reset. Does anyone have any insight here, please?
Thanks

welcome to the forums (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif)

it might well be that the air bag system just needs to be reset, but this can only be done on the hyundai scanner. why did they not try this when the new alternator was fitted?

Hyundai didn't do the service on the alternator. I don't know why the mechanic couldn't reset the light unless it can only be done by Hyundai.
Thanks for your reply

I'm sorry . I just realized that I mixed up a bit of the information. The mechanic is suggesting that there is a problem wit the airbag wiring in the steering column, not ABS wiring..

its a bit odd that thease two faults happend at the same time, if l were you l would get the system checked out with the hyundai H scanner at your nearest main dealer, you will then know exactly what you're up against

there are a few other scanners around that some workshops may have but it would be best to use the hyundai H tool

The air bag light was a remnant of the alternator issue. Had it re-set and now it's OK
Thank you
