Some weeks ago, I sent an email to Hyundai encouraging them to import some diesel-powered vehicles to the USA. I own several diesels already, and think that the bettereconomy of operation would appeal to US drivers.
I got a phone call but couldn't take it so the Hyundai representative left a message. Very nice, and much more of a response than I expected. The representative said that Hyundai has "no plans at this time " to import diesel-powered vehicles into the USA.
Too bad. It might have been the deciding factor. As it is, I'll keep driving the '03 Elantra, my diesel Mercedes, and Ford diesel Pick Up.
