Error Code P300,p301,p304, Misfire in cylinder1, cylinder 4, multiple misfire

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: 16-November 09 Member No.: 77,780 Status: Location: san diego usa Drives: 2000 hyundai elantra	HI I have had 2000 Hyundai Elantra (manual transmission) for past 2 years now and it has 140k miles on it. Recently it gave me error codes P300,301 and 304 which on check says that misfire in cylinder 1,cylinder 4 and random misfire detected. I changed the spark plugs and the timing belt. it goes off for a while and comes back on. the rpm on start goes below 1 and it doesnt take much of pickup like it used too. can anybody suggest me what needs to be done as I am a full time student and cant afford to spend much money (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif) .

Member Group: Members Posts: 25 Joined: 7-June 09 Member No.: 65,049 Status: Location: USA Drives: 97 Elantra GLS Wagon	Could be spark plug wires or ignition coil problem. Replace. But first check that all spark plugs wires are seated correctly, and use a multi-meter to check that spark plug wire resistance is within spec. No way to test the coil, that I know of.
