So, with my stealth box, I have 1.29 cubic feet to play with. It realistically is too big for my Polk Momo 8" sub. I'm wanting to sell my 8" and buy a 10" or 12" sub. I could pay $200 for the Digital Designs Sub, but am I ever going to play it that loud? Probably not. So, with that being said: I've been looking into the 10" Alpine Type R. I have found it online for as low as $79 + shipping. Specs : http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/p...ng=en&tab=FI don't have to have brand new, and I have been looking through the pawn shops as well. I ran across a box with 2- 10" Rockford Fosgate P2 subs for $69 I have also been looking at the Kenwood 12" sub: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainmen...rs/KFC-W3012DVCAny other suggestions? I'm wanting to stay below $100

Well, I traded an old Alpine MRV-F301 for this sub. Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 10" Dual Voice coil sub. It sounded awesome in the guys car. I'm going to put it in my custom stealth box. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.p...;products_id=30Here's a vid of them "testing" them at their shop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybHDatX_apMQUOTE Frequency Response : 10 - 100Hz @ less than .5dB Variation Average SPL in 1.0cF Vented @ 30Hz Enclosure : 121.14 dB Peak SPL Out in 1.0cF Vented @ 30Hz Enclosure : 136.3 dB @ 54Hz That's my 8" Polk Momo in the pic for comparison

You could browse around http://www.madisound.com/ or http://www.parts-express.com to find a sub that fits your needs, and not mainstream. Raw drivers are hella cheap, relatively speaking. suggested brands: vifa seas tang band scan speak peerless

Well, the Elemental Sub is awesome.
I stopped by a local pawn shop and was looking through their amps on the shelf. I came across what was labeled a Rockford Fosgate P3001. I knew that I new the number from my research, and the lady even let me look up the specs online. I liked the voltage and asked the price. The sticker said $129, but she said they would go to $100 with no tax (or tax included). I had $75 cash in my pocket. I asked if they would take a trade in. She said "we will buy your old amp, and put it towards the price of the new one."
Keep in mind that I only paid $3 for the Visonik amp on Ebay. She bought it for $25, which put the final selling price of the Rockford at $75 cash out the door.
Got it home, and figured out that it is a P3002, and not a P3001 like the sticker said. My fault for not looking and being in a hurry.
The major difference between them is that one is a 1 channel, and mine is a 2 channel. I can bridge mine, but not at 2 ohms like I need. The 3001 is 2 ohm stable at 1 channel. Oh well.
I got this amp hooked up to the ED sub, and Holy Cow!! It's like twice as loud as it was on the Visonik amp (which is funny because it is a lower wattage amp) and the sound is crystal clear. I've only got 150 watts RMS to the sub, but it's bumpin'.
Final note, don't waste your money on Visonik. 5 stars for Rockford Fosgate. This is the first RF product that I have owned.

I can attest to the power and clearity of Rockford Fosgate line... my 8" sub, now that it has been broken in, sounds incredible at just level one bass... mixed with my alpine headunit and sony amp... the sound and bass is UNBELIEVABLE and the low bass ends are REALLY impressive for the size of the sub.... happy camper ova here...!
