It's definitely something mechanical, I can't believe they can't hear that! Have you shown them the video?

I showed them the video but they said they have to hear it when it is doing it to diagnose it and fix it! I said so when it strands me or breaks down then you will fix it?? They said well you have plenty of warranty left and I don't think that it will strand you!!

They have some "Magic Ears" that can be used. Like Microphone Technology from 30 years ago. Yesterday for the first time ever I heard a similar noise

as yours. I have not heard one noise or seen one light or fault in the 44 Months (wow) I have owned my new Sonata. Do what they say, and let it break

then. Or you can try another Dealer. In my case I drove to the next Subaru Dealer and they heard my noise and replaced the Rack & Pinion Steering!

Definitely abnormal! If your video camera could catch that noise so pronounced and clear, I can't believe a human ear won't hear it.

But than some dealers are deaf, we know that. And dumb too. Don't be angry at them they were born like that.

I'd demand service here. If you keep getting a dumb reaction, go to another dealer, tell him yours plays games with you. Dealers like the competition, and many times would like to show you they can do better than your own dealer, hoping (justifiably) that you'll switch to them.

Second the dealer change. It sounds like a loose heat shield, and the fact it doesn't do it when warmed up supports that. A friend had to leave her Pontiac at the dealer's overnight; "Can't reproduce problem" they said. When she went to pick the car up the **** thing made the noise so she got the service writer (I'd like to think she led him by the ear) and showed the deaf sucker the noise. The mechanic got a piece of wood and trial-and-errored it in about 2 minutes. Heat shield.

Yea I am going to see what's going on! Funny thing is that I can't hear it now! It was at the dealer for 3 days and they said they couldn't hear it, but now I can't either! It may be something loose some where and im sure it will show back up soon!

Is it still doing it to this day? Sounds like a flexplate issue. I broke 2 of them on my SS and sound like that but mine was louder.
