I am installing a pioneer deh-p5100UB in a 06 elantra and this is my first install. I have a question on the wiring. For the most part with the harness I am matching color to color(ex. white to white, white with black stripe to white with black stripe), is this correct?

From the wire harness I have some left over wires.
I have the black one labeled chassis ground, am I supposed to hook this up to a peice of metal inside the dashboard, wrapping it around a screw or something?
I have a blue wire labeled power antenna, the antenna on my hyundai is on the rear glass it does not have a metal antenna that goes up and down so I do just leave that loose, am I supposed to tape it up with electrical tape if I do leave it loose or can I just leave it free?
Orange w/ black stripe labeled dimmer ground. Is this another wire I am supposed to connect to a metal peice inside the dashboard and can it go around the same screw as the black chassis ground wire?

Now for the other "harness??" that connects to the stereo side that I am crimping this other harness to. It has the following wires that didnt have a match
A long yellow wire that is slightly thicker and longer than the other wires. Pioneer says to connect to the constant v12 supply terminal. I am having trouble figuring out what this means. Where do I connect this to, from my research it sounds like something car battery related.
A blue and white striped wire with a tag on it that says system remote control. It says to connect to system control terminal of the power amp or auto-antenna relay control terminal. My elantra did not come with a steering wheel remote or anything and I just have stock speakers no amps etc. everything was factory in this car prior to this install.
Black(chassis ground) Connect to a clean paint-free metal location. This come with a clamp on the end that looks like I can slide it right under a screw inside the dash, also can I connect this to the same screw as the other black chassis ground and orange dimmer ground wire from the harness.

Yes, it's pretty much bulletproof. The little stub of harness that came with your new stereo is color-coded to match the colors on the adapter harness.

This is normal; they put extras in to cover all possibilities; the Elantra doesn't use them all.

Correct. Make sure it is SECURE, though; don't just twist it around something like a twist tie; screw it down securely under a screw that goes into metal. There is a brace forward of the stereo with a screw in it; it is screwed in VERY tight, but you should be able to get it out using a ratchet wrench holding a Philips screwdriver bit.

You don't have to connect it at all, but wrapping some electrical tape around the end can't hurt... good instincts. If you had either a power antenna, or an external amp, this wire would be used to tell them your stereo is on and either raise the antenna or turn on the amp. If you have neither, do not use this wire.

Treat it the same as the power antenna wire; don't connect it to anything and wrap the end with electrical tape. Due to the nature of the way Hyundai dims the interior lights, this wire does not work for Hyundais.

There should be a yellow wire on the adapter connector... isn't there? The yellow wire on the adapter harness should always be on (once it is connected to the connector in the car). This wire is for the memory- it drives the clock in the radio and stuff. There is no yellow wire on your adapter harness?

Then don't connect this wire. If you had an amp or power antenna, you could connect it to the blue wire from the other end that you already taped off. But if everything is stock, don't use this wire.

It should be okay to connect it to the black wire, but do NOT connect it to the orange wire. It will mess up your panel lights if you do.

Whoops I had the yellow from the harness attached to the yellow with black stripe of the adapter harness which is a mute function wire and pioneer says if I dont have that just leave it free of any connections. This yellow constant 12v wire coming from the harness I should connect it to this pioneer adapter harness yellow wire which is thicker and longer than every other wire but it is the constant 12V wire as well, just strange to me that its thick and longer than every other wire except for the chassis ground wire also coming from the pioneer harness.
You have answered all my other wiring questions which I appreciate and was counting on you to come to my rescue based on your other posts on the subject. Thank you very much Doohickie.

Radio is installed but I ran into 2 issues, my lighter isnt working, I dont know if it wasnt working before hand or not, I never use it, so I dont really care, possibly a fuse or I just connected it wrong, bigger issue is putting the dash back on I couldnt get the clip above and to the right of the radio to go back in. It is leaving a tiny gap, I gave up and just screwed the dash back on with the rest of the clips in place, but that clip just wouldnt fit back in.
