This is going to sound a bit crazy, but have you tried a plunger? No, don't laugh. I'm serious. :whistling:
Depending on the size and location of the dent, a plunger can be applied to the dent by its suction and pull the plastic (or metal) back out into its proper, natural shape. A small dent may require a sink plunger, which is about half the size of a toilet plunger. The one to use is the cheap, red rubber, half-globe type.
What the hey, it's worth a try, especially if it saves a trip to a body shop.
Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to get most of the dent out using the non-pointed side of a fireplace poker. Your suggestion might work on what is left if the plunger will suck onto the remaining dent. If it does suck onto the dent then I will heat up the plastic with a hair dryer and try to pull it out.
