One of my daughters needs new wheels. Looking at the Elantra Touring. GLS Sport, I think. Seems real nice. Great looking. Good handling. Price is reasonable. Anyone here have experience with them? Thks.

I looked at them when my wife was looking for a replacement to her aging Kia Rio. They look really cool, and would especially more so to the younger folks. My wife ended up buying a light blue 2009 Hyundai Accent 3dr hatchback SE (I like her car but she won't let me drive it).

We looked at an Accent hatchback too. Real sharp. I like it.

But she prefers a 4 door. Also looked at other 4 door hatchbacks. Golf/Vibe/Matrix/Mazda3/Honda Fit. The Fit is amazing. I'm sort of steering her toward Hyundai. Hope this is not a mistake. I'd never recover from it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

Going back tomorrow. Dealer has several 2010's in stock. She likes the silver or grey, with nice wheels, fog lights and sunroof. Wants a 5 speed right now, but may change her mind.

I'm going to move this to the Elantra discussion board as you're more likely to get interest there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

No firsthand experience, but I gave it the once-over (in contemplation of my own impending daughter-car needs) and was impressed with the overall design, fit and finish. It's a jewel of a car, in a strange Euro sort of way, and it's getting solid reviews.

Of the other cars you probably can't go wrong with a Fit or Versa. The Mazda 3 is a nice driver, but my mother's loosened up noticeably after 4 years so I can't endorse its durability. VW is a maintenance nightmare according to many, and the Matrix/Vibe has had some issues too.

Bought it. GLS Sport. Carbon grey. Black interior. A/T. Looks sharp. Rides and handles great. Hope it was a wise purchase. If it wasn't, I'll be blamed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)
