Hi All.
Just about to start my first winter here in the UK with my Santa and used the Front windscreen wiper de-icer this morning for the first time. Just wonder how effective they are? My last car had a heated front screen which was brilliant. Not expecting this to be as good, but wondered if it is of any use.

They help prevent the wiper blades from sticking to the windshield when not operating, but don't expect much in terms of preventing ice buildup during operation. Winter blades are still recommended.

Did the USA models wind up getting this feature? I've never thought to check.

I worked for a Land Rover dealer back in '06-'07 and the Range Rover, RR Sport, and LR3 models had tiny wires embedded in the windshield. When you turned the heated glass on and gave it maybe a minute and a half, it would melt any heavy frost or light ice and a quick swipe of the wipers would have you road ready. The heated steering wheel on the full-size Range Rover was pretty sweet, too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)
