I bought my aunts 2006 sonata after she decided she was to old to drive anymore .The car has 7,ooo miles on it and the michelin mxv4 tires look brand new with tons of tread EXCEPT there are a load of cracks in all 4 side walls . I am concerned about safety and am wondering if Michelin will warranty these in any way .The tires were made in (04/06) which I believe is the fourth week in 2006 and the car is a 2006 sonata any advice greatly appreciated. I hate to drop $400 unnecessarily on new tires .Thanks vavso

No if you already replaced the Tires they wont help you now. I posted the Tire Warranty in the Sonata 4G section,

and the tires are covered for up to 6 Years, but everyone has a different take on what this worthless warranty means?

If the car was parked outside they won't do anything and it does sound as if this is sun damage.

unfortunatly it looks like your gonna be buying some tires.....sun damage is a killer no pun intended and i live in vegas my mom had a 04 XG350L and she drove all the time but she parked outside all the time so yea within 2 years we had to replace em they had a bunch of tread still but yea....cracks in the sidewalls lol i dont think i helped by taking the car up to 125 on a couple of occasions but i digress lol

Had a whole bunch of fun today ::

i spent all day fighting with sears when Michelin sent me there for a warranty inspection of my tires which have severe tire cracking ........They have even wear and 9/32 of tread left and 7300 miles on them . Sears says Ozone cracking and the car is safe to drive and bring it back in 6 months to be looked at again Michelin says the car is unsafe to drive .. What matters worse is I would have just bought new tires elsehere rather than sit at sears for 2 1/2 hours if the Michelin rep did not seem like they were going to make good some way . Michelin is calling me back later though . Michelin was very unhappy to hear the sears tire guy say just drive it like that though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) I already picked out some Yokohama Avids if I get nowhere with them . vavso

I bought Cooper CS4's and to tell the truth the car rides better . I will never buy another Michelin again . They are over priced and their customer service sucks . they had me jump through hoops knowing all along they were going take zero responsibility credit for the issue .
