Hi, i'm new to the forum and am posting because my girlfriend is having a bit of trouble with her 2002 Matrix 1.6 GSi.

For a few weeks she's complained that occasionally the engine warning light would flash on and the car would become a bit sluggish when accelerating.

She has just rang me to say that the light is now permanently on, although the car seems to be running ok.

Having had a look at a few posts it seems to be something to do with o2 sensors or ECU connection? I'm not awfully hands on when it comes to cars, but is it easy to look for these items and check connections?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as we could really do without a garage bill at the moment.

Regards,
John

welcome to the forums (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif)

there is not much you can do without getting the fault codes extracted. you will need to go to a workshop and ask them to read the codes on their scanner. once you have the codes make a note of them and post back here where someone can advise you.

you will find that charges will vary from garage to garage so it would be best to phone around for quotes but around £30 would be about average
