Hi All,

I have a '97 Accent ( Excel in Australia ) It has started behaving strangely and hesitating and missing at low revs under load. I have recently a few months ago replaced the spark plugs so it is not that. I did the ecu Data Trouble code thing on it and it gives just one error 4154 - Air/Fuel ratio this could mean anything so I was wondering of anyone had seen a similar thing to this and could give me any suggestions on what might be causing the issue?

Cheers

Chris

I'm not sure if things are different in Australia but, that looks like a pre-OBD2 code. Not to ask a stupid question but, are you sure the vehicle is a '97? That looks like a code from a '95 year model.

There is some troubleshooting information for similar air/fuel mixture codes on the HMA website for earlier models. Have you looked at any of those?...
ACCENT (X3) > 1995 > G 1.5 SOHC > Fuel System > MFI Control System > DTC - 4151, 4152, 4153 (AIR FUEL CONTROL)
ACCENT (X3) > 1995 > G 1.5 SOHC > Fuel System > MFI Control System > DTC DIAGNOSIS

Based upon that information, the issue may be injector related, although the 4154 isn't explicitly listed. Sorry if that's not much help.
