Hi all i was going to order one of the Flip Key cases from Ebay. The one i have seen comes with a key blank. Anyway today i ask the guy in the key cutting shop if he could cut the key from mine he said yes but it would be no good as mine has the chip in it, What i would like to know is he telling me the truth. My Santa Fe is a 2004 model? Regs Andy

I dont know if your SanteFe has the immobilizer or not. They didn't use it in the states in 2004 on the SanteFe. I would trust the locksmith. Just to be sure call the dealer and ask them the price of a replacement key. They will tell you if it needs to be programed.
