I need a little advice/opinion on a new noise that has developed after a routine, preventive Timing Belt/Water Pump replacement. The noise can be heard readily from inside the cabin of the car. It seem to be coming from the engine bay from the passenger side. It is a buzzing noise that becomes higher as the enging RPM's rise. It sometimes stops when one stops accelerating.
It could be the bearings in the alternator. When I've heard that sound, it sounded like a buzzing that followed engine RPM. Sometimes, when the engine speeded up, it would suddenly stop (sounded like brrrrrRRRP) then start again as the engine slowed down.
